On October 23 (Fri), Ewha Womans University’s College of Pharmacy and Yonsei University’s College of Pharmacy signed an MOU to cooperate with the “Korean-style NIBRT Program for the Graduate School of Specialized Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences” at the Ewha Womans University campus in Seoul.

With the growing interest in the pharmaceutical bio industry, which is the next-generation growth engine, the first 'Bio Process Manpower Training Center' in Asia was opened in Songdo International City, realizing the cultivation of talented people who are key to the domestic pharmaceutical bio industry to leap to a global level. It is meaningful in that it is a project jointly promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The Korean NIBRT is the 'Korean National Bioprocessing Research and Training Center', which benchmarked the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT), an Irish national educational institution that cultivates professionals required for the biopharmaceutical production process.

The center is scheduled to be completed in 2023, and it plans to establish a curriculum through industry-academia-research cooperation, and to cultivate more than 2,000 domestic and foreign pharmaceutical and bio-industry field personnel tailored to demand. With the signing of this MOU, the College of Pharmacy plans to jointly conduct biopharmaceutical production process practice, biopharmaceutical research and development, and valuation of undergraduate and graduate students with Yonsei University.
