Ewha Center for Child Development and Disability got selected as the affiliated institution for dyslexia treatment 2020 Seoul Learning Support Center. This program is going to offer professional services to students ranging from first grade of elementary school to the second grade of high school from June 2020 until December 2020. Six institutions got designated for this program including Ewha Center for Child Development and Disability.
Center for Child Development and Disability has offered individualized interventions to analyze each student's traits systematically collaborating with department of communication disorders. By having parents counselling and communication with teachers as a part of the process, not only could it maximize the effectiveness of dyslexia treatment but also prevent underachievement. This selection is the result of recognition not only for expertise in treating dyslexia, but also for the fact that the center's multidisciplinary cooperative system can provide professional services if necessary for psychological and social problems such as social anxiety and depression that can accompany dyslexia. Ewha Center for Child Development and Disability will help treat dyslexia by managing each student's case professionally and collectively in cooperation with the department of communication disorders.
The project for dyslexia is expected to serve as a stepping stone for students who find it difficult to read Hangul, providing practical help and eventually contributing further to the growth of students.
