Mee-Hye Kim Professor Emeritus
Dr. Kim, Mee Hye received a Ph.d in Social Work from School of Social work, the Ohio State University in 1992. She has took up professorship of department of social welfare at Ewha Womans University. She is an authority on welfare policy for the elderly and woman studies. Currently her research subjects extend to long-term care, elder abuse, baby boomer issues and preparation for their laster life. She is now a director of Leading University Project for Educational Development Cooperation and a representative of INPEA (International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse). She was a director of committee developing a evaluation Index of Korea Elder Protection Agency(KEPA) and managed the process of evaluating community agencies. She is actively engaged in many academic societies such as the Korean Gerontological Society, the Korean Society of Child Welfare and the Korean Long-Term Care, etc. She was the chairperson of the Korean Gerontological Society in 2013. She serves on committee of Seoul social welfare, evaluation committee of privately commissioned management etc. She researched many government projects such as analysis of social welfare statistics under supervision of National Statistical Office and estimation of social welfare staff in local government community for social service delivery systems under supervision of Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs. In 2013 She wrote the education manual for CSA counselors. She is outstanding scholar publishing about 100 articles and books. Her best articles are "The factors of successful aging types in Korean elderly", "A study on the effects of conjugal relations of baby boomers on the preparation for older aged focused on the comparison with the pre-elderly". The books on 「Analysis of Social Welfare Policy」and「Welfare Service for the Elderly in Community」「Transition of Polices on Welfare for the Elderly in Community」 were published.
