Dr. Kihyun Lee is an expert of disease modeling using human pluripotent stem cells. After the completion of her B.S. and M.S. at Ewha Womans University, she entered Weill Cornell Medicine for her phd study. She studied the genetics of pancreatic development using human pluripotent stem cells and her study helped in-depth understanding of genetic cause of neonatal diabetes. During her postdoctoral training at Gladstone Institutes located in San Francisco, she investigated the genetic cause of congenital heart diseases using whole-exome sequencing data. In her own laboratory, she will continue studying disease etiology using patient-derived data and pluripotent stem cells.
