Eun Mi Cho, Professor of Modern Dance, is a dancer, choreographer, educator, art director of TAM Dance Company. Born in Seoul, Korea, she graduated Jin-Myung high school, studied Dance at Ewha Womans University. Prof. Cho continued her studies at the Graduate School of Education, and at dance schools in France and US. 
She is a founder of TAM dance Company, which was established in 1980, mainly composed of graduate students of Faculty of Dance at Ewha Womans University. Thereafter, Prof. Cho performed “Cloud Patterns” celebrating the foundation of TAM in 1981. At age 27, she choreographed “Bronze Patterns” at the 4th Korean Dance Festival in 1982, and received choreograph award, music award, and arts award at the earliest age ever. Also, in the same year, Contemporary Dance Association of Korea awarded her as the Best New Artist of the year.
In 1986 Asian Games Culture and Arts Festival, Prof. Cho performed “Enveloped time”. In 1988, she presented “Namcheon, the second movement” with a composer, Carman Moor, with the support of the American Cultural Center. She is acknowledged for developing TAM as a prestigious dance company by receiving numerous awards. At the Korean Dance Festival in 1983, TAM received the grand prize and excellence in acting and arts award. Also, in 2001, at the 1st Seoul Performing Arts Festival, she choreographed “Grief” and won the choreography and acting awards.
Prof. Cho established TAM’s own choreograph style, and is acknowledged for pioneering Korea’s modern dance among the global trends by emphasizing innovativeness. She founded Modern Dance Association of Korea in 1987 and served as the 4th and 5th president. During her terms she planned various stages including Twelve Choreographer’s Dance Performance, New generation choreographer and Contemporary Dance Choreographers Stage, and received recognition for developing the dance field.
With the support of the American Cultural Center, Prof. Cho was one of the thirteen international choreographers, chosen as a representative of Korea at the 53rd American Dance Festival in 1987. In 1999, she was invited to London Spring Loaded Collection as a Korean representative, supported by British Council, and attracted world attention. She presented pieces of her choreography at the 27th Cervantino International Festival with the help of Ministry of Culture of Mexico in 1999 and at Global Dance Festival in Germany in 2002. Prof. Cho was invited to the 4th Art Summit Indonesia Festival  and 8th International Festival of Avant Garde 2007 of Mexico and exhibited her art pieces, introducing Korean contemporary dance worldwide.
Prof. Cho is a promoter and publisher of monthly magazine on dance, Dance and People founded in 1999. She served as a director of the Korea Society of Dance, and as a vice-president of Dance Association of Korea. She received the Dance Artist, the Best Stage Artist Awards from Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea, and the Isadora Dance Artist Award.
She is an author of Introduction to Contemporary Dance for Dancers, and her translations include: Dance Composition and Production, Intimate Act of Choreography, Sense of Dance and Body Space Image. Also, Prof. Cho staged around 60 contemporary dance pieces, focusing on development of dance art.
