Ok-kyoung Baek Professor
Department of History
Baek, Ok Kyung, a professor in History department of Liberal Arts at Ewha Womans University, is a scholar of Korean history focusing on the Chos?n period. She obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. from the graduate school of Ewha Womans University. Her research specializes in Chungin, the middle-class of the Chos?n dynasty. She has been actively engaging with academic societies including the Chosun Dynasty History Association, the Association for the Study of Korean History of Thoughts and Korean Association of Women’s History and presented more than twenty articles in various journals published in Korea. She is the author of Translators in the Earlier Chosun Dynasty(2006) and also translated Dongsarok(2007). She teaches ‘Society and Culture in the Early Modern Korea’ and ‘Korean Tradition and Folk Culture’ and etc.
