A welcome ceremony was held at the ECC Theater at 11 am on February 24 to greet international exchange and visiting students for the first semester of 2017. For this semester, a total of 398 international students enrolled in the exchange and visiting student program, and they consist of 77 male students and 326 female students. The students came from 205 universities in 27 countries. The program had the most students from France (65 students), followed by the U.S. (63 students), Japan (53 students), China (49 students) and Germany (33 students).
The welcome ceremony featured introductions of Ewha Womans University and Ewha Peace Buddies. In addition, a sexual harassment prevention video was shown, and the celebration music was played by students from the Department of Korean Music.
Associate Dean of Global Affairs Lee Jong-guk encouraged the exchange and visiting students who chose to study at Ewha by saying that he hopes that they will be devoted to their studies, which is the basis of university life, and that they can utilize help from Ewha’s excellent faculty, the Office of Global Affairs and Peace Buddies and learn as much as possible while they study at Ewha.
