Ewha Expands Demand-specific TELOS Track System into Various Majors

As part of the Advancement of College Education (ACE) program, Ewha has applied the TELOS Track system to a larger number of majors, pioneering the student-driven curriculum.

Designed to help students acquire self-driven learning abilities and explore their careers in a creative way, the TELOS Track system has developed and operated various demand-specific curricula tailored to students’ aptitudes and capabilities for each major. Under this system, sophomores have leeway to select tracks they think suitable for them, and complete the required major and liberal arts courses and participate in extracurricular activities. Each track has advisory faculty who provide systematic counseling and academic and career guidance. Students are allowed to complete two tracks maximum during their time in university.

As of now, a total of 32 tracks are running with 22 tracks piloted in the 1st semester of 2016 and ten new tracks launched in the 2nd semester of this year including “Global Literacy (GL)” and “Storytelling & Translation (ST)” tracks in the Department of English Language and Literature, and “LID: Learning & Instruction Design” track in the Department of Educational Technology. Eight more tracks will be added in the 1st semester of 2017, and the TELOS Track system is expected to be applied to all majors in the near future.
