박학수 교수는 마취통증의학전공/의학전문대학원 소속 교수로 통증의학 분야 연구의 권위자다. 한양대학교 의과대학원에서 박사학위를 받았으며, 최소침습척추시술(Minimally Invasive Spine Procedure)과 난치성 통증 치료(Intractable Pain Management) 등에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있다. 2012년부터 대한통증학회이사(Board Member, the Korean Pain Society)와 대한의학회 학술지편집위원(Editorial Board Member, Journal of Korean Medical Science) 등으로 활동하고 있으며, 현재까지 총 7편의 논문을 <Spine> 등 SCI(E)급 국제학술지에 발표했다. 저서로는 『통증의학 넷째판(Textbook of Pain Medicine, 4th)』과 『마취통증의학 개정판(Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, revised edition)』 등이 있다.
