	The office of Information and Communications was founded as Electronic Calculation Institute in May 1983, in order to assist the computerization of educational research and administrative business such as assisting professors' and students' research and study on spot, data arrangements of academic and general administrative tasks. In May 1995, it was enlarged and reorganized as Information and Computer Institute from Electronic Calculation Institute and was promoted to office of Information and Communications in February 2001.

	Information System Management Department plans out blueprints for the college systematic informationalization and maintains Ewha Portal Information System, groupware. Purchasing various server system, network, installation, management, and maintenance are all parts of its work. The department provides services such as webmail, application shared software, multi-funtional student ID card and mobile network. In addition to these works, it takes care of the entire network inside the campus, not to mention the information as well.

	Information System Development Department manages the planning, development, maintenance, and repairing of all the application system regarding academic, administration, and other businesses in the university. Especially, all information necessary for research, education and administration is being constructed as integrated administrative system. Ewha Portal Information System(EPIS) consists of academic system assisting academic affairs of staff, graduate schools, special graduate schools and administrative management system assisting personnel research, and finance(budget, accounting, pay, asset management, purchasing).
