Taxi & Bus & Subway
Taxi
Taxis can be very expensive if you are traveling long distance. The initial fare on the meter is 1,900 won for a regular taxi, and the black luxury taxis (called “Mo-beom”) will cost more starting at the initial fare of 4,500 won. Taxi fares increase 20% after midnight.
Bus
Buses are colored according to its line type: Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.
Blue (Main Line): Rapid inter-regional transportation. -900 won-
Green (Branch Line): Linking main lines and subway trains inside a region. -900 won-
Yellow (Circular Line): Transportation inside metropolitan sub centers. -500 won-
Red Bus (Wide Area Line): Rapid transportation between metropolitan areas and cities in the Gyeonggi Province. -1,400 won-
Blue
This type of buses will operate at higher speeds and access the median bus lane connecting suburban areas to downtown Seoul. The city government is partly in charge of its operation. The city has taken full consideration to introduce 3 kinds of buses belonging to the Blue Bus category: bendable bus, CNG (compressed natural gas) bus with a lower platform, and regular large-sized CNG bus. The blue color represents Seoul's skyline and Hangang (River) to symbolize security and freedom.
Green
stations or bus terminals in downtown Seoul. It is similar with the city bus and the community shuttle bus currently in operation. Green stands for the mountains surrounding the city.
Red
The red buses will be express buses designed specially for those commuting between downtown Seoul and the metropolitan area. The color red exudes energy of speed.
Yellow
This bus will circle downtown Seoul and stop at stations for blue buses and major railway stations, as well as business, tourist and shopping areas. Yellow was selected for its dynamic and friendly image.

Subway
The subway is the easiest and quickest way to get to your destination in Seoul. You can either buy a one-way ticket, or a pre-paid bus card. The basic fare begins with 800 won and increases according to distance. Most announcements signs are in both Korean and English. In addition, you can distinguish lines by their colors and numbers.
There are 8 subway lines in Seoul, and more subway lines are under construction. To get to Ewha, take Green line number 2 and get off at “E-dae-yeok” (stop #241), which is short for the Ewha Womans University stop.

Transportation card
(T-money): T-Money can be used for public transportation on all subways that link Seoul and on every bus (both intra-city and village) that serve routes in Seoul or local districts in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon.
Long Distance Express Buses
If you want to go on a bus trip to other provinces, you can take express buses. There are two kinds of buses - Regular and Deluxe express bus. The latter type offers better service and facility at a higher price.
Bus Terminals
Express Bus Terminal: Subway line number 3 and 7 at the ‘Express Bus Terminal’ Stop.
Dong Seoul Express Bus Terminal: Subway line number 2 at the ‘Gangbyeon’ Stop.
Train (Railroad)
10 minutes walk away from Ewha is a railway station called ShinChon-youk. If you want to go to the Kyounggi Province by train, this is the closest way to go.
If you want to take a railway trip to other provinces more distant from Seoul, you will have to take a train from the Seoul Train Station, Yongsan Train Station or Chung-ryang-ri Train Station. You can look up relevant travel information at the website of the Korea National Railroad (www.korail.go.kr).
Airport Shuttle Bus Transportation
Take bus number 602 from bus stop 5B or 12A at the Incheon International Airport. The bus fare is 8,000 won, departing every 10-15 minutes. to get to Ewha. You will need to get off at E-Wha-Yeo-Dae (Ewha Womans University) stop.
